How can I get involved in the Energy for All partnership?

 There are different ways for each organization or individual to get involved into our partnership. This depends on where you work, your background and what you wish to get out of it. Read through the different options and get started! As always, please keep in mind that we want to bring qualified partners in touch with each other and try to seek ways to move forward energy access scaling up activities.

 I work for an enterprise

As an enterprise working in the field of energy access, you might have already developed a sound business model, or you might still be testing and looking of the model that best fits your market. Share your questions, challenges and knowledge with the partnership and its members. Theymight be able to provide you with expert advice on how to improve your model. The Energy for All Secretariat, consisting of a number of experts in different fields of expertise, can support you in finding an investor for your business or assist you in finding funding to finance a pilot project. The greatest chances of success in scaling up your activities is when you have successfully piloted or actually implemented part of your business plan already.

To achieve this, the partnership organizes investors forums, coaching trajectories, consultancies to provide technical assistance.

I work for an NGO

If you are working for an NGO in the field of energy access, the partnership can be of great interest to you. The Energy for All partnership, as part of the ADB group, has been able to build a strong brand in the field of energy access. Joining the partnership would mean that you can brand your activities and projects as Energy for All projects to the outside world, using our logo. The Energy for All partnership secretariat consists of expert people that can provide you with information, technical assistance and facilitation in access to funding. Furthermore, you can test your ideas with peers through discussions on our online discussion platform. If you join one of our thematic working groups (Lighting, Cooking or Electricity), you can participate in the workshops and other learning activities that are organized by the working group conveners. However, you should not expect to obtain 100% financing for the ideas that you have. We might be able to link you to other organizations, but do not expect to easily and simply obtain funding for your project ideas.

 I work for an investor or donor

The Energy for All partnership currently has more than 150 members working in the field of energy access for the poor. The Energy for All secretariat are working on project development and business model development both with enterprises and NGOs. It has developed several mechanisms through which donor funding can be channeled to reach large numbers of poor. The project development facility enables enterprises to pilot or continue the development of sustainable business models. It also coaches enterprises in developing a sound business plan and business strategy so that it is ready for an investor and can reach large numbers. The secretariat has the ability to organize large calls for proposals and with this reach many partners in its network. Finally, the secretariat can assist the leverage of donor funding, through lobbying for co-financing from ADB funds.

I am an individual expert

As an individual expert you can make a great contribution to the partnership. We urge you to provide us with your expertise through our online discussion platform. You can help improve the business models from our partners or support project development. In return, the partnership can provide you with knowledge, information, interesting articles and publications, and maybe even an assignment. As an individual you can’t become a member of the partnership, but you can become a member of a thematic working group.
